Dia de Los Muertos
Dia de Los Muertos or as some of you know it- Day of the Dead is a Mexican celebration. If you aren’t familiar with the Mexican holiday it is celebrated throughout Mexico and by the people of Mexican heritage. Its celebration starts on November 1st and ends on the 2nd.
It is a day to remember loved ones that have passed and are no longer with us.
Dia de Los Muertos traces its roots to the people of Mexico and is specifically done in the fall to coincide with the end of the agricultural cycle.
It is a beautiful celebration of remembrance for lives passed. It is not a sad mourning day, but a day full of love and memories, not death. During this day ofrendas (gifts/offering) are made for loved ones and are displayed on colorful altars.
I thought it would be fun to use all the Hershey candy we typically already use for Halloween and do a Dia de Los Muertos Hershey Sugar Skull Candy Tray with it in honor of this celebration. Although they are celebrated one day apart they are not related. I think it is important I incorporate some of my heritage for my children so we keep the tradition alive.

I hope you enjoy making this Dia de Los Muertos Hershey Sugar Skull Candy Tray as much as we did. Have your kids or partner join in the fun and help out. The hard part is not eating it while making the tray! Please enjoy the video below to see how I put this together.
