I’ve been doing a lot of things lately with the kids at home since I found out their school district will no longer assign them after school homework this year. The reasons behind it are with good intention, I can’t deny that. As I am told our school district feels that there are more pros than cons to this big decision. Mainly as they know this will bring a good outcome to the kids and their families at home, so parents can focus more on family quality time with their children. Personally I wasn’t happy with the decision at first. Only because I feel homework creates structure and certain expectations academically to both the child and parent. But now it has given me a bigger reason to focus on activities at home that will be entertaining and fun for us both.
Working with Elyse can be more challenging as she is just starting pre-k and is going on her fourth week of school so far. I think that as parents one of the toughest jobs is making sure we are helping our kids learn and grow successfully with their education. Building a strong foundation at home to prepare your child exceed in school is important. These skills are vital to their success in school.
I always go to our favorite snack. This is the best way we can incorporate a fun learning activity. With Goldfish you can always feel good as they are baked with 100% real cheddar cheese and they have no artificial flavors or preservatives.
As a working mom I value the time I get during the week at home to spend time with my kids and be able to take advantage of this one on one time with all of them. My kids are always on top of it when its time to do “school work”. They get their snacks ready and Goldfish is our favorite top pick because not only do we get to eat them at the end but we use them for our learning activities too. I have learned that if I keep it entertaining and fun my kids are more eager to learn. Lately we been working on it while munching on Goldfish Colorful Crackers . We use them to practice letters, colors, shapes, patterns, and number sentences. I use them with everything, for matching the numbers with the word, problem solving, and adding and subtracting.
These fun educational activities with Goldfish Colorful Crackers are an entertaining way to get them involved and eager to learn. They been mom – approved for me since Ryan was old enough to snack on food. And I love Goldfish because not only do they taste good, they are air baked, and like I mentioned before made with real cheese. There are no preservatives or fillers added. Plus a fun fact many do not know is that the colors are plant sourced.
Something many parents don’t know is their colors are sourced from plants, such as beet and watermelon juice concentrates and annatto extracts. Here is a little more details on how Goldfish derives its color:
- Red: The red Goldfish crackers are colored using a mix of red beet juice concentrate and paprika extracted from sweet red peppers. Wholesome and colorful. You can’t beat that.
- Green: The green Goldfish crackers color comes from watermelon & Huito juice concentrates mixed with extracted Turmeric. That’s Huito. Pronounced wee-toe. Colorful and fun to say.
- Yellow: The yellow Goldfish crackers color comes from extracted Turmeric. A beautiful color that makes you think of warm sunshine on a perfect day.
- Blue: The subtle blue crackers come from Huito (derived from South American fruit) and Watermelon juice concentrates. These crackers have so much fun, they never get the blues.
Right now Goldfish is on the search for their next color that will have their own limited edition bag with the help of your vote. So which color from the four above will you vote for? It’s time to PLANT YOUR VOTE!
