NERF OR NOTHING SUMMER

August 20, 2019

This post is sponsored by Hasbro Nerf and Kroger however all opinions are my own.

If I can describe this summer I would say it is going by way too fast and although the days sometimes do feel slow, pretty soon the school year will begin and I won’t have my kids here with me anymore. Not everyday is a beach day. Not every day is a road trip. Not everyday is an adventure. But one thing is for sure, with imagination – it can be. Some days we stay home and do absolutely nothing and that is okay with me. Life is what we make it and we don’t let our limitations hold us back.

I have learned that kids don’t need more than just their favorite toy and parents who are willing to go wild and get down with them too. In this case, grab a NERF gun and pretend we are all in a huge battlefield at home. When my husband gets home from work the game is really on!

Nerf Guns

Nerf battles are great outdoors but in rainy or gloomy weather. indoors is just as fun, and has more rooms for us to hide in. The Nerf darts are super soft so my house decor and plant vases are safe, with no worries of any sort of accidents.

CELEBRATING NERF FEST

We picked out the latest Nerf products at our local Kroger. We always go with Nerf products because of their huge range of selections for every age, and the power each Nerf toy possesses. Making each battle more eventful and entertaining for us all. We can have endless hours of fun and are starting to get creative by letting our children build their own obstacle course.

This month Nerf is celebrating NERF FEST. You can save $3 when you spend $15 or more on any Nerf Toy purchase or save $5 when you purchase the N -Strike Elite Rukkus IC-8, Nerf Mega Bulldog, Zombie Strike Nailbiter or the Elite Dart 50 Pack.

OUR TOP NERF FAVORITES

Ryan’s Choices:

Nerf Mega Hotshock- You can shock the competition with Mega blasting in a micro size. The Nerf  N-Strike HotShock blaster is a compact blaster that fires Mega Whistler darts. So easy all you do is load a Mega dart into the barrel, pull the handle back, pull the trigger to send the dart through the air. It also has storage for 2 darts for fast reloading during the heat of battle.

Nerf Mega Bulldog- This is his absolute favorite. Move the grip to change modes in 1 fast easy step. Swing the grip down to automatically extend the stock and raise the sight. Swing the grip up to automatically retract the stock and lower the sight. The Nerf Mega Bulldog blaster is part of the AccuStrike Series that features darts designed for greater accuracy. Blast into battle with the most accurate Nerf Mega darts. Load 3 darts into the front of the blaster, pull the handle back, and pull the trigger to fire 1 dart. A storage area on the blaster holds 3 darts. Players can extend the stock and raise the sight to stabilize shots and focus their aim. Retract the stock and lower the sight for a more compact size to stay mobile or battle in tight spaces. Includes 6 AccuStrike Nerf Mega darts. The blaster is also compatible with Nerf Mega darts (sold separately). Be a bulldog on the battlefield with the Nerf AccuStrike Mega Bulldog blaster!

Elyse’s Choice:

Nerf ZombiestikeNailbitter- The zombie survivors are prepared for anything, with survival kits to defend against any zombie attack! For fast firing with no priming, take along the Nerf Zombie Strike Survival System Nailbiter blaster to fight zombies…and her brothers. Load the darts into the vertical indexing clip and pull the trigger to fire. The blaster’s 8-dart clip automatically indexes to the next dart and stays attached to the blaster. There’s no need to prime, so zombie fighters can unleash darts fast to keep the zombies at bay. The blaster includes 8 Zombie Strike darts. This orange blaster has attachment points for a stock and barrel extension (each sold separately) and a tactical rail. The Nailbiter blaster is designed with fun details that reflect the Zombie Strike story of survivors who are creating battle gear with parts they scrounge from different places.

Luke’s Choice:

Nerf Elite Rukkus ICS-8- This is how Luke gets wild! Load and fire fast with the Rukkus ICS-8 blaster! This Nerf N-Strike Elite blaster features an 8-dart clip that automatically indexes to the next dart. The clip stays attached to the blaster, making it fast and easy to reload, so that players can insert more darts without removing the clip. Load 8 darts into the front of the indexing clip, pump to prime, and pull the trigger to fire. With less time needed to reload, there’s more time to play, so blast into action and raise a ruckus on the field! This blue
and orange blaster includes 8 Elite darts designed for distance.

Last year I said Animal Kingdom was our favorite p Last year I said Animal Kingdom was our favorite park I even wrote a blog post sharing all the tips, top rides, and favorite foods for AK. This year however the park is the only one that closes early so even with half a day here we did so much. We even did Expedition Everest 3x in a row because... no lines. Still can’t believe how empty AK felt! I still think it’s definitely a park you don’t want to skip out on especially to experience Pandora, it’s so magical every single time. Yesterday we did day 3 at @waltdisneyworld. We got Yesterday we did day 3 at @waltdisneyworld. We got to use the skyliner for the first time from the Riviera to Hollywood Studios. My number one task was to wake up early set my alarm for 6:59AM to get boarding passes at 7AM. I know there’s many who asked me how did I do it. I’ll share on stories tonight step by step (and I’ll save it in a highlight) First thing we did when we arrived at the park is hit Toy Story Land and did Slinky Dog first (which is the most popular ride at the park based on wait times) we did all the rides at TSL and then proceed to Galaxy’s Edge. By lunch time we had finished ROR and all of the above. We could had never accomplished all of this before 12 pre c o v i d. My husband and kids even convinced me to get on the Aerosmith ride which I have been avoiding for years. Since it’s the biggest height requirement ride (48”) we had to do a rider switch so Elyse and Ryan got to do it back to back. We finished the day after eating at Mama Melrose with the newest ride- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Overall this was by far the most successful day we have experienced at the park. #DisneyMagicMoments
We are back at Magic Kingdom ✨and it’s just as We are back at Magic Kingdom ✨and it’s just as magical as before even with masks on.

Few things I wanted to answer based on your questions that I have received in my DMs. Yes, you’ll need a park reservation & a park ticket to get in. Disney is currently at 35% capacity right now (but that’s based on their all time high numbers at 100% full) Personally I have never seen Main Street so empty for this busy time of year. We got to ride all the major rides we wanted. The highest wait time we saw was 80min for Space Mountain & I wanted to turn away but the kids wanted to get in line so I timed it and it took us 30ish minutes to get in & the same thing for Seven Dwarfs- in and out in about 35 min even with the long line wrapped around. The lines might seem scary long but keep in mind they are doing social distancing so everyone is spread out in the lines and on the ride as well. We also got to eat at CRT for the first time and we all loved it. The food and the atmosphere did not disappoint one bit. Totally worth the money in my opinion. Next thing- did I feel safe? Yes I absolutely did. Everyone was wearing a mask at all times, I never saw an adult nor any children not having it properly on. They are sanitizing stations everywhere even throughout the rides and before getting on too. Plus we each had a bottle and used it all day like crazy. I’ll be answering more throughout my stay and on stories. But overall if you are thinking about visiting @waltdisneyworld any time soon my advice is JUST GO FOR IT! It’s the best time to avoid those overly large crowds. #disneymagicmoments
